So, Wordpress was really bumming me out with all the constant updating, and the fact that I was responsible for a database when all I really needed was a flatfile. Ugh. And PHP.

Then I stumbled across Jekyll, the Ruby based static page generator, and I was immediately smitten. I ported the old Wordpress site over, did some styling, and now I have beautiful text files that comprise the whole site. And my “themes” are just CSS now. Simple. As it should be. I’m not the Post here.

Moreover, GitHub Pages renders Jekyll for me, so I was able to use this migration as a component of my ditch expensive hosting project.

Hurray for free sites! Huzzah!
